Oils infused in jars at low temperature

Ingredients:

Turmeric infused oil

  • 1 glass jar with a lid
  • 70 g mild olive oil
  • 55 g fresh turmeric

Cinnamon infused oil

  • 1 glass jar with a lid
  • 70 g mild olive oil
  • 1 cinnamon stick (12 g)

Vanilla infused oil

  • 1 glass jar with a lid
  • 70 g mild olive oil
  • 1 Madagascar vanilla pod (15 g)

Garlic infused oil:

  • 70 g mild olive oil
  • 20 g fresh garlic
  • 5 g chilli powder
  • 15 g thyme
  • 25 g fresh rosemary
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 glass jar with a lid, 120 cc

Preparation:

To make infused oils we need to take the following steps:

We start by putting the oil and the aromatics in a glass jar. We close the jar gently and pack it in the vacuum packing machine.

We then cook it at 45ºC for 60 minutes in the SmartVide sous-vide cooker.

Infusions in a jar can be a sustainable way to work with vacuum techniques and reuse old containers.
